The official Twitter app has been launched for Apple’s tablet.
Now iPad users will be able to tweet and re-tweet away with their fellow twits who have bought Apple’s magical device.
It might have taken a while to launch the app, but that seems to have been time well spent, as the interface sounds quite slick.
Users of the social networking site will be able to reply to a tweet simply by pinching on it, and the interface allows them to open up videos and links in new “panes” which pop up on the right hand side of the display, so everything happens on one screen.
It’s designed to be a seamless experience which will give you all your Twitter needs without stepping outside the app, and it’s a free download, too.
Unless you’re already firmly entrenched with an existing third-party Twitter app, then it sounds like the official app is well worth checking out.
Leland Rechis posted on the Twitter blog: “Twitter for iPad takes advantage of the iPad’s fluid touch interface, letting you move lots of information around smoothly and quickly – without needing to open and close windows or click buttons. There are a few things we want to point out that make this app a really fast and fun way to read real-time content.”
