Not content with the unveiling of the Motorola Milestone 2, Motorola have come up with another release for European customers – the Motorola DEFY.
Most smartphones seem to be built with the expectation that owners will get the box home, unpack the smartphone, play with it for a few minutes and then cocoon it in bubble wrap forever. In short, they’re a bit fragile. Not so with the Motorola DEFY.
This phone is built to be scratch-resistant, bump-resistant, dust-resistant, and it should even survive being submerged in water up to a metre deep for half an hour. We’re really not suggesting you should take your shiny new DEFY, try to scratch it with your keys, hit it with a hammer and chuck it in the swimming pool… But it’s good to know you just possibly could still make a phone call afterwards.
Solid design aside, the Motorola DEFY is also a fairly high spec smartphone. Running Android 2.1 Éclair, the DEFY houses an 800 MHz processor, 1.25 Gb of internal memory and MicroSD card support allows users to add up to 32 Gb of memory. The handset features an extensive range of connectivity options including WiFi, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and more.
The DEFY also has an impressive 5 mega pixel camera for taking high quality pictures and GPS. Since this is an Android, users will have access to the Android Market place and all the rest of the usual goodies, like turn by turn navigation from Google Maps Navigation.
There’s no confirmation yet on price yet, but we’ll let you know when Motorola DEFY deals become available.
