Sneak Peek: LG C900 and Palm WebOS 2.0

September 2nd, 2010 by Best Mobile Contracts

Nope, the two items mentioned above have nothing to do with each other, but they are both worth previewing just the same.

First on the list, the LG C900; for those of you who are wondering why the latest images of the LG C900 on the internet seem familiar, it may be because this device seems pretty much like the LG Panther smart phone that was leaked earlier this year.

When the Windows Phone 7 OS was first announced, LG was among those who officially declared that they were already working on a handset for the platform.

However, as time passed, it seemed that there was less and less about the Panther being revealed and more about the LG E900. For the most part, it seemed as if the Panther has been cancelled. Now, it seems that LG has not let go of their initial project and is pushing through with the launch of two WP7 handsets this coming October.

At the moment, little is known about the new LG smart phone other than the fact that it would at least have a 1GHz CPU and that the 3.2 inch touch screen would be showcasing a WVGA resolution.

In other news, HP seems to be making the most out of their massive investment in the purchase of Palm. Recent reports indicate that the developer version of the WebOS is already available for developers (naturally). While an SDK release is hardly anything exciting for consumers, it is still a good sign.

With HP actively seeking out support from app creators, it is most likely that the company is currently working towards releasing a new device that uses the WebOS. The only question in everyone’s mind is whether HP is coming out with a mobile phone or a touch screen tablet.
