The Samsung C3510 is a new little touch screen phone which is also known as the Samsung Genoa and has a more than passing resemblance to a PDA. Measuring 103 mm x 55 mm wide and only 12 mm thick the C3510 is compact in every way, whilst being lightweight at only 92 g. However, irrespective of its small size, it still packs an impressive level of functionality.
The Samsung C3510 was known throughout its manufacture and in other markets as the Samsung Corby Pop but has taken on the Genoa brand for its UK release.
The main display screen, as always is the focal point of any handset and this display screen is no different. At 2.8 inches in size it is large and is able to display up to 256,000 colours within a pixel screen size of 240 x 320 pixels. TFT in nature, this touch screen offers a smart unlock feature and utilises the cartoon user interface. Alert types available with the Samsung Genoa include both vibration and ring options, with the ability to utilise MP3 ringtones, which means that downloaded music files can be utilised as ringtones. A speakerphone and a 3.5 mm audio jack are also included in the handset which utilises digital natural sound engine technology.
The phone book contained within the Samsung C3510 can recall up to 1000 contacts, whilst extensive call records are also retained by the unit. The handset comes with 30 MB of internal memory, with the ability to upgrade this up to 8 GB by making use of the available Transflash or microSD card slot.
