Thanks to Everything Everywhere, Orange or T-Mobile customers will be pleased to know that from October 5 they’ll be able to access both networks, allowing them to make calls and send texts from a greater number of places.
If you lose reception on Orange, for example, your phone should automatically pick up signal from T-Mobile if it’s available. So you’ll effectively have a back up network at your disposal for no extra cost.
To get this to work you’ll need to register your details with your current network; click here if you’re with Orange and here if you’re with T-Mobile).
Right now voice calls won’t automatically switch between networks right away; that’s due to come next year, as are improvements in 3G coverage.
