Along with unveiling the Milestone 2 smartphone today, Motorola has also brought out a new mobile which is designed with toughness in mind.
The rugged Motorola Defy is scratch-proof, dust-proof and water resistant, which means you should be able to happily drop it in the bath without frazzling the unit.
In theory, it can spend a number of minutes submerged under shallow water without any ill effects. Although it’s doubtful the person on the other end of the phone will be able to understand what you’re saying when you’ve got several lung-fulls of water.
The Defy manages a reasonable tech spec alongside these hard-nosed attributes, with a 3.7 inch display, 5 megapixel camera with flash, and an 800MHz processor, plus 2GB of memory. Unfortunately, the latest version of Android isn’t on board, but the next best thing is, version 2.1.
The price and exact release date remain a mystery, although it will be out in the fourth quarter of this year, we know that much.
