Microsoft is going to showcase its new Kinect motion control system for the Xbox console at theme parks and events across the UK, so the public can try before they buy.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, you can get yourself down to the Kinect Galleries in Covent Garden, London. This opens to the public today, and Electricpig.co.uk reports that you can book a slot for demo on a Facebook page here.

It states on the page that booking information will be available soon, although someone in the comments thread is claiming to have booked already, but they didn’t say how (so it could be a wind-up).

At any rate, if you don’t fancy travelling to London, Microsoft’s Kinect demonstrations will also be touring “all over” the UK and Ireland.

One starts today at Alton Towers, running until the end of August. Other confirmed dates include London Zoo (August 7th to 22nd), Chessington World of Adventures (October 21st to 31st) and the Clothes Show at Birmingham NEC (December 2nd to 8th).

More dates will be announced soon. Kudos to Microsoft for taking the system out on the road, because making sure it’s your thing before splashing out £130 on Kinect is definitely a worthwhile activity.
