The racy little number known as the HTC Desire is due for release soon and is expected to be an extremely popular HTC handset. Expectations are high for the Desire due to its overwhelming level of technology and aesthetically pleasing style. The HTC Desire weighs 135 g, whilst measuring 190 mm x 60 mm wide. The handset is only 11 mm thick and in the usual HTC style offers sumptuous technology.
The lucky owner is afforded a large 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen, which operates within the confines of a 480 x 800 pixel screen size, and is able to display up to 16 million colours in an effective manner. The touch screen utilises the multi-touch input method as its primary means of navigation whilst also employing the services of accelerometer and proximity sensors. In addition an optical trackball is provided as an alternative means of navigation.
The Desire comes with 576 MB of RAM, as its internal memory capacity with the option to improve this, by utilising the transflash or microSD card slot, which can increase capacity up to an impressive 32 GB. Internet access is ably provided by the Wi Fi and HSDPA connections, which offer the alternative of utilising nationally available hotspots or its own connection, which provides speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. In addition the class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE are provided with the addition of both microUSB and Bluetooth. The handset also offers satellite navigation through its GPS function which happens to come with A-GPS support.
The HTC Desire also offers an impressive 5.0 megapixel camera that includes auto focus and an LED flash as standard. The camera operates at 2592 x 1944 pixels and also affords the user the benefits of being able to record D1 quality video at 30 frames per second. For entertainment purposes a stereo FM radio with RDS functionality is included, as well as a variety of games, in conjunction with an MP4/MP3 player.
In addition to the numerous functionality already mentioned, the handset also provides a digital compass, dedicated search keys as well as Facebook, Flickr and twitter applications for those who enjoy the social networking aspect of the Internet.
The HTC Desire, much like its counterpart the HTC Smart, offers an impressive level of technology encased within a stylish case. This particular unit utilises a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor as well as the Eclair version of the android operating system. Technologically advanced in every way this unit will no doubt impress all who survey its features and functionality.
