Asus N53 and N73 laptops land in the UK

Asus has unleashed a pair of new laptops which don’t just sound good. They sound good, too (because they’ve got really good speakers, you see).

The N53 and N73 have had their sonic side developed in conjunction with Bang & Olufsen, who know a thing or two about making high quality stereo equipment (and funny shaped and coloured TVs).

These notebooks boast SonicMaster technology which means they have larger speaker chambers than your average portable, more powerful processors, plus software augmentation to make your music, games, videos or whatever you’re doing on the move sound better. Or that’s the theory, anyway.

The N53 comes with a 15.6 inch display, and the N73 a 17.3 inch, both powered by Intel Core i5 processors (with an i3 option on the N53). Backing this up will be Nvidia GT325 or 450M 1GB graphic solutions (GT325M on the N73) featuring Optimus switching technology (to help save your battery when not running intensive games or apps).

On top of that lot, you’ve also got the option of up to a 500GB (N53) or 640GB (N73) hard disk, 4GB of memory and a Blu-ray drive, so these definitely aren’t machines to be sneezed at (after all, it makes a terrible mess on those high resolution screens).

All this wonderful sounding goodness will lighten your wallet to the tune of between £650 and £1000 for the N53, depending on which options you pick, and £1100 for the N73.
