Some good news for owners of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, as the smartphone is set to finally receive an update to Android 2.1.
Sony Ericsson has announced via the company Twitter feed that the 2.1 update will be on its way before the end of September. This is good news in light of the fact that previously a fourth quarter release had been expected.
Of course, this comes at a time when HTC Desire owners are about to upgrade to 2.2 (or indeed have already got 2.2 on their handset).
One Xperia X10 user tweeted: “And what about Android 2.2?” To which Sony Ericsson replied: “We can currently only confirm the details regarding the upcoming Android 2.1 upgrade.”
