Acer has announced a couple of new Android handsets to tickle your fancy; the beTouch E120 and beTouch E130 are being sold as handsets for those looking to dip their toe into the smartphone waters without ‘compromising their individuality’ – presumably because not many people will buy an Acer handset.

Sorry, that was harsh – after all, these two new handsets have access to the Android Market, which is more than can be said for the E110. Both handsets also feature HSDPA (Super-3G) for high speed browsing, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3.2-megapixel cameras.

The Acer beTouch E120 (pictured left) is a touchscreen Android, with a 2.8-inch screen and 5-way navigation D-pad. It’s affordable, fairly smart-looking and easy to use. The handset, available in black or white from mid-July, comes loaded with widgets and onboard Facebook and Twitter apps; the press release tells us the ‘beTouch e120 never leaves you alone’ – which sounds a little ominous. If it continues to work after the batteries have been taken out, try shooting it in the heart. It worked on Chucky.

The Acer beTouch E130 (pictured right) is a BlackBerry-esque handset, with Qwerty keyboard and 2.6-inch screen. It promises quick and easy email set up and social networking widgets. Also available in black or white, the handset will be out in August 2010. No word on pricing or networks yet, though.
